About Me

My name is Megan Perez, and I am a Registered Dietitian living in South Florida. I have spent my career conducting nutritional assessments and providing education in a wide variety of clinical settings.  These experiences allowed me to become knowledgeable and insightful into numerous acute and chronic conditions.  My education began at Ohio State University where I graduated with a degree in nutrition and community health.  I then moved to Florida to complete a Master’s degree in dietetics and nutrition.  After years of practice, I learned that school alone did not prepare me to truly help clients overcome their struggles.

I personally spent about 15 years struggling with my own food and body image issues. Beginning at a young age, I developed an unhealthy relationship with food as I tried desperately to control my intake and my body size. This left me feeling chaotic around food and living with a bottomless hunger I saw as a weakness. I quickly decided that I could not trust my body and spent most of my time obsessing over diets. Unsurprisingly, the dieting would not work and instead led to restriction, binge eating, and an endless cycle of guilt.  It took a very long time to get to the root cause of my eating patterns. Once I began to discover the "why" behind the patterns, I was able to hone in on these feelings and work on small but lasting changes. What resulted was pretty magical. Today, I find myself able to better manage my stress, and replaced the time I normally spent thinking about food to actually living my life.  I am able to focus on my relationships and my passions, but also on my health and well-being. Everyone deserves to find food freedom.  To follow my dream of helping others to live their fullest life possible, I decided to open my own practice.

My Philosophy

This practice is the result of my desire to help you live your healthiest and most FULL-filling life.  My definition of healthy may be atypical.  By living healthy, I want you to feel your best; to increase your energy levels, mood, and motivation; to glow on the inside and outside; and to break free from negative thoughts about yourself, about food, and about exercise.  I believe a full life includes real food, real relationships, and real experiences.  There is always room for mindful indulgences, and never a need for guilt or shame.

My Mission

My mission is to empower you to let go of perfectionism with food and your body, and start living a life full of love, success, and happiness. My goal is to help you ditch the diets  and to eat based on your unique wants and needs; not anyone else's.  By working with me, you will learn how to respect and nourish your body. You will also learn how to listen to your body, to tune in to your hunger cues, and to eat and move intuitively.  Most importantly, you will ENJOY food again.

My Approach

In my practice, I use a non-diet and non-judgemental approach. I utilize evidence-based strategies including Health at Every Size, Intuitive Eating, and mindfulness. Based on your individual goals, nutrition education and counseling will be used for healing. Supplements, therapeutic meal plans, and stress-management techniques may also be used. We will work as a team to get to the root cause of your concerns. The end goal will always be to feel your best.
